HOW TO START A DAVE AND BUSTER’S FRANCHISE IN AMERICA: YOU CAN’T

A family entertainment center is a fun community destination with loyal customers of all ages who return time and again to enjoy a day or an evening with family and friends. With ample opportunity for recurring business and a variety of high-profit revenue streams, it’s no wonder entrepreneurs are interested in joining the growing family entertainment industry.
Thorough research will reveal that franchising helps optimize business potential in the family entertainment space. The next task is to find the best brand partner.
Dave and Buster’s is one of the more widely known brands in family entertainment, and you may be curious about a Dave and Buster’s franchise cost and whether you can start one in your community. The answer is simple: You can’t. There is no such thing as a Dave and Buster’s franchise in the U.S.
Franchising is Your Best Bet, but Dave and Buster’s Won’t Bet on You
Family entertainment centers are massive, and the list of games, activities, and attractions a business owner can include is endless. What attractions will keep families coming back week after week? What games are kids playing these days? What food and beverage services will please adults and kids alike? A successful franchise with a proven business model will provide the playbook, eliminating any guesswork and allowing a new business to hit the ground running from the moment the ribbon is cut at the grand opening.
For prospective business owners in the United States, Dave and Buster’s is not an option. While 72% of Dave and Buster’s business structure comprises franchises, the Dallas-based company only franchises locations internationally. According to Franchise.com, the company owns and operates its locations in the U.S.
There’s a Better Choice in Family Entertainment
While the news about Dave and Buster’s may be surprising to some, it’s not a reason to give up on the goal of bringing family entertainment to your community. Launch Entertainment is a bigger and better option that offers an innovative approach to family entertainment that is unrivaled, and we are looking for partners to help us expand our nationwide footprint.
Launch Entertainment is a bigger and better option that offers an innovative approach to family entertainment that is unrivaled, and we are looking for partners to help us expand our nationwide footprint.
What Makes Launch the Best Family Entertainment Franchise?
Unlike Dave and Buster’s, which is advertised as a sports bar, restaurant, and arcade, Launch offers far more than beer, televised sports, and arcade games.Launchis an innovative leader in the growing family entertainment industry that is focused on getting the whole family on their feet for a great time. With new and exciting attractions introduced regularly, Launch is focused on providing a one-of-a-kind space for families and friends to make awesome lasting memories.
Launch is the Bigger and Better Alternative
Launch Entertainment Centers are up to 40,000squarefeet in size and offer a differentiated family entertainment center experience. Ourwide variety of attractions and amenities include XP Arena, ninja courses, laser tag, bowling, trampolines, premium food and beverage service, and more.
Launch is for All Ages, Not Just Kids
Entrepreneurs recognize that family entertainment centers that only cater to kids are limiting their customer base. Broad appeal is important for the bottom line. Build something designed with only kids in mind, and parents will be bored and anxious to leave after an hour.
Build something that’s as fun for adults as it is for kids, the whole family will stay for hours and continue coming back for more.
Dave and Buster’s has enjoyed widespread success thanks to its focus on attracting people of all ages, and Launch recognizes that same need to offer diverse activities and services. Launch is as fun for a family night out, children’s birthday parties, and youth groups as it is for adult date nights and thrilling work retreats.
Launch Offers Premium Food and Beverage Service
A business that wants to enjoy the broad appeal and keep customers inside for hours will need to offer great food and beverages that keep the party going. First-generation family entertainment centers typically offered limited food and beverage service. A customer might be able to get bottled water or soda and a bag of chips or a candy bar at a small concession stand.
People come together around food and drink. Launch’s founders recognized early on that customers want quality meals to enjoy in between activities, and they created a restaurant concept within the entertainment centers called Krave& Bar Hops to fulfill the demand.
Launch Isn’t Afraid to Evolve
Launch got its start as a trampoline park in 2012, after a rainy day on a family vacation to Disney World. Rather than running around in ponchos at the theme park, Launch founders Rob and Erin Arnold decided to find indoor fun for their kids. Their Google search ultimately led them to visit a trampoline park in Orlando.
While the family had a good time jumping around, Rob and Erin felt they could improve upon the business model of the first-generation trampoline parks of the early 2000s, and so they created Launch. What started as a simple but differentiated trampoline park has evolved into a massive indoor family entertainment center experience for all ages.
Rob, Erin, and the rest of the team at Launch embrace new technology and changing consumer preferences. Launch Entertainment continues to evolve to keep up with changing trends and keep customers coming back to discover new activities.
Launch Owners Enjoy Best-in-Class Franchise Support & Training

Family entertainment is a profitable industry with a promising outlook as it continues to expand globally. A recent analysis of the family entertainment centers market found the industry is expected to grow to $40 billion by 2025 at a compound annual growth rate of more than 10%. It’s no wonder investors are eager to add indoor family entertainment to their portfolios.
Some companies like Dave and Buster’s believe they need to own and operate their locations to maintain brand consistency and standards, and therefore there’s no Dave and Buster’s franchise opportunity in the United States. On the other hand, we’re confident that Launch’sproven business model and well-developed systems can lead to mutual success. We welcome qualified entrepreneurs into our franchise family.

TRAMPOLINE PARK FRANCHISE: GOOD INVESTMENT? HERE’S WHAT TO EXPECT

Entrepreneurs who are considering franchise ownership want to know the business they choose is a good investment and finding the right personal fit requires time and research.
If your search for the best franchise opportunity led you to consider a trampoline park, you’re off to a great start. Not only is the family entertainment industry growing and profitable, but it’s also rewarding to build something beloved by local communities.
What is a Trampoline Park?
Rising in popularity over the past decade, typical trampoline parks are indoor recreation spaces with large jumping surfaces. Trampoline parks offer a space for kids to burn energy and get exercise. Predominantly designed for kids, you’ll see an occasional brave adult venture to the trampolines and ninja course.
Launch Entertainment is transforming the trampoline park franchise concept, which traditionally settled into old, dingy warehouses in inconvenient areas of town that lacked curb appeal and failed to offer activities for all ages.
Launch locations are welcoming the moment you enter the parking lot, and franchises are strategically built out in convenient, centralized locations anchored by popular department stores and shopping centers. Unlike other trampoline park concepts, Launch is dedicated to drawing crowds of all ages with a variety of innovative attractions.
The Key to Success Today: Offer More Than Just Trampolines
From incredible food and premier beverage service to events and attractions for all ages, the best trampoline parks offer far more fun than just a bunch of trampolines.
Trampolines may draw families for an hour, but Launch Entertainment parks offer a wide range of innovative attractions can keep guests at a family entertainment center for the entire day.
Taking it a step further, a modern trampoline park and family entertainment center is designed to be fun for all ages. No longer are these parks only fun for kids.
Launch Entertainment franchises offer options for all-age entertainment, from birthday parties and family game nights to date nights and company outings.
Guests young, old, and in between can come to Launch for a differentiated family entertainment center experience with a wide variety of attractions and amenities, including XP Arena, ninja courses, laser tag, bowling, extreme dodgeball, trampolines, premium food and beverage service at the Krave restaurant and bar, and more.
Choose a trampoline park that’s evolving to meet customer expectations. Launch isn’t afraid of change. Franchisees are excited to grow and expand as the industry continues to progress.
The Indoor Family Entertainment Industry is Booming
Trampoline park franchises and indoor family recreation are part of a relatively new and fast-growing industry with exciting prospects. The global trampoline park market is projected to grow at an above-average, healthy compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 17.2% from 2021 to 2030, according to recent market research.
More broadly, family entertainment centers, including trampoline parks, generated $18.9 billion in 2017, and the industry is expected to grow to $40.8 billion by 2025, according to a 2021 industry report.
What Startup Costs Can You Expect?
The cost to open a trampoline park franchise and the capital entrepreneurs need to get started will vary depending on the franchise brand and concept.
The initial cost to open a Launch Entertainment franchise is between $4,622,388 to $6,335,888., with an initial franchise fee of $50,000. Qualified candidates need a cash requirement of $1,000,000 and a minimum net worth of $3 million.
The ongoing costs include a 6% royalty fee and a 1% ad royalty fee.
Invest in Your Own Trampoline Park
Owning a family entertainment franchise is a fun and rewarding opportunity to provide a space for families to let loose and enjoy time together. Launch is a service-based, high-margin business model that drives repeat business by providing customers with an unrivaled, innovative experience.
Investing in a Launch Franchise is more than just owning a family entertainment center. Franchisees are part of a supportive community of like-minded entrepreneurs. Launch Entertainment Re-Opens Norwood, Massachusetts Location Following $1.6 Million Renovation

Multi-Unit Launch Franchisee Ryan Debin Welcomes Guests Back to Norwood Location After Innovate Revamp of the 30,000-square-foot Family Entertainment Center
Warwick, Road Island – (October 25, 2021) – Launch Entertainment, a leading operator and franchisor of innovative, year-round family entertainment centers, is proud to announce a new and improved edition of the 30,000-square-foot, fun-filled experience in Norwood, MA. The Norwood location, now deemed one of the Top 5 performing Launch locations, is owned by multi-unit franchisee Ryan Debin.
Founded in 2012 by Rob and Erin Arnold, Launch has pioneered a different kind of family entertainment experience with a wide variety of attractions and amenities for all ages including XP Arena, ninja courses, laser tag, bowling, trampolines, Krave Restaurant, beverage service, and more.
Ryan’s ambition to surpass his own success is second to none. Debin opened his original Norwood location in 2019, but like many other businesses he was forced to close for several months due to COVID-19. However, Launch didn’t slow down during the pandemic. It did the opposite. This window of opportunity gave Debin the time needed to undertake a $1.6 million renovation to his facility. In doing so he made his very first location bigger and better than ever.
“When faced with challenges, like a global pandemic, it can bring out the best and most creative side of a person, or in this case a business,” Debin said. “This gave my team the chance to transform the Launch in Norwood. We added birthday party rooms, laser tag, and a ninja warrior course among many other amenities. We wanted to focus on making my very first location the best version it could be for customers of all ages.”
Debin is thrilled for guests to come out and enjoy the new amenities his team has worked so hard to bring to life. Visit the new and improved Norwood Launch family entertainment center located at 570 Providence Highway.
“Being a better version of yourself than you were the day before is the cornerstone of life,” Debin said. “That concept also applies to Launch. When we had to shut down during the pandemic, it gave my team the opportunity to create a better, more thrilling experience for our guests. Our goal was to turn the Norwood Launch into one of the top-performing locations in the franchise, and that’s exactly what we did.”
Launch franchisees like Debin enjoy the independence of small business ownership while being supported by the benefits of a big business network. Owners of the trailblazing Launch parks get the playbook for success from a proven, reputable brand that focuses on establishing multiple revenue streams while maintaining low operating costs. Launch franchisees also receive ongoing support and training from a best-in-class franchise team.
Debin, a lifelong entrepreneur, currently owns four Launch Entertainment locations across the state of Massachusetts. His family entertainment centers can be found in Framingham, Westborough, Woburn and Norwood. With three additional locations in development, Debin plans to open a total of seven locations across the state.
“Spearheading innovation within our Launch locations is the pillar of this franchise,” said Launch CEO Rob Arnold. “Evolving with the times and creating new experiences for our guests is always our top priority. A franchisee like Ryan makes our job effortless. He is the epitome of a determined, diligent, open-minded leader that we are fortunate to have on our team. We’re delighted to see his very first location thriving more now than ever in Norwood.”

MULTI-UNIT FRANCHISES: ARE THEY A GOOD INVESTMENT?

Entrepreneurs looking into franchise opportunities will likely come across multi-unit franchises, or franchise concepts that allow a franchisee to sign an agreement to open multiple locations.
Those who are new to franchising may wonder whether it’s best to start with one or multiple locations. Owning more than one territory can put business owners on the fast track to financial success, but entrepreneurs should consider the following information about multi-unit deals to determine whether they’re the right fit for this type of agreement.
What is multi-unit franchising?
When a franchisor simultaneously awards two or more locations or territories to a franchisee, both parties sign a multi-unit franchise agreement with the understanding that the new business owner will open one or more locations in designated territories, typically within a certain period of time.
The alternative to a multi-unit deal is a single-unit franchise agreement, where the new franchisee agrees to start with one location. The owner can decide to open additional locations later and sign new franchise agreements when they are ready to expand, but there’s no guarantee in the meantime that the desirable locations or territories won’t be sold to another owner.
Should I Stick to One Franchise Concept or Diversify?
There’s nothing stopping an entrepreneur from signing agreements for multi-unit franchises with different brands. Someone may choose to own three family entertainment centers, three fast-casual restaurants, and three spas. However, there are advantages to sticking with one franchise concept.
The proven playbook for success is the primary benefit of franchising, but the playbook for each brand or concept is different, and there’s much to learn about each business.
By sticking to one concept, multi-unit franchise owners can become experts on the process of opening and successfully running the business. It’s worth considering the time saved not having to learn new systems and software for multiple franchise concepts. Becoming a master of one concept allows franchisees to expand quickly with fewer learning curves.
Should I Open Franchises in One State or Several?
Multi-unit owners can either operate their locations in the same region or state, or they can open units across the map depending on their personal business goals, the concept they’re considering, and their comfort owning a business that is physically distant from where they live.
Many owners find they can decrease costs by opening several locations in one region, because they can share resources. Employees across multiple locations can be trained in joint sessions. If staffing is low in one location, employees from another location can step in to lend a hand. Inventory can be ordered in greater quantities, which allows the owner to take advantage of economies of scale. Rather than paying for local marketing in multiple states, marketing efforts in one region can benefit multiple locations.
Concentrating all locations in one region has the added benefit of eliminating competition from franchisees within the same franchise system. A multi-unit franchise won’t worry about competing with fellow owners 20 miles to the north and south if he secures the rights to all three locations.
Multi-Unit Franchises Provide Flexible Opportunity to Build Wealth
With multiple locations come multiple revenue streams, which increases profit potential. Franchise candidates should review a concept’s Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) with a franchise expert or attorney to more fully understand the brand’s franchise offering. Many FDDs include an Item 19, which details information about gross sales, costs, and profit margins reported by franchisees who were in operation for the previous calendar year.
Keep in mind many franchisors offer a discounted franchise fee per unit for multi-unit owners because multi-unit agreements help the franchisor reach their growth goals faster and are good for their bottom line.

3 Child-Focused Business Ideas with the Best Profit Potential

When searching for a lucrative business such as a kids entertainment franchise, it can be challenging to find the right option that suits your needs. We’ve researched viable options to help narrow down your quest for successful endeavors and fulfill your dreams of owning your own child-focused business. Here are three child-focused business ideas with the best profit potential for entrepreneurs.
Types of kid-focused businesses available to open today
When it comes to child-focused business ideas, the top three that come to mind include sports, education, and entertainment.
For example, one option is opening your own swim school. According to the FDD (Franchise Disclosure Document) for Goldfish Swim School Franchise, for each franchise open 12 months or longer, on average you could make $1.7 million a year. However, operating expenses could average out to be around $1 million. Owning your own swim school is beneficial beyond the profits you might earn. You would not only be making money, but you could be shaping the lives of many children in the process. This option requires a lot of work and a multitude of steps to be successful.
Another option to open your own child-focused business today would be a daycare service. There is always a need for childcare. However, when it comes to the best profit potential, it is under par. Reports suggest the average profit for a daycare center is $37,000. Compile the profit with the lack of resources currently available such as caregivers this could be a challenging option.
The third option for a child-focused business you could open right now is a kids entertainment franchise. Launch Entertainment has pioneered a different kind of family entertainment experience with a wide variety of attractions and amenities for all ages including XP Arena, ninja course, laser tag, bowling, trampolines, Krave Restaurant & Bar Hops beverage service, and more. This viable option gives families with children of all ages a unique experience with an endless supply of activities to choose from. When selecting a business opportunity that will help secure a legacy for your family, this type of child-focused endeavor evolves with the times and has great profit potential.
Reasons why the kid-focused niche is popular
According to latest United States Census Bureau data, there are more than 73 million children in the U.S., making up 22% of our nation’s population.
In addition to the number of children there are across the country, parents love spending money on their kids. From clothing to toys, activities, family outings, school supplies, the latest fads and more, child-focused business ideas are potentially highly profitable.
Kid-focused companies not only provide entertainment and a way to stimulate young growing minds, they also have the potential to help shape the next generation. Providing children with various outlets such as a kids entertainment center can help develop their social skills, spark creativity, develop a specific passion and an overall sense of community.
Different ways parents love to invest in their children
According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the average family spends between $12,000-$14,000 on their child a year.
Parents spend money on their kids in a variety of ways. For some it’s all about education and investing in their future. Many parents begin a savings account for college and provide access to tutors when needed to keep their kids on track. Having your own child-focused business ideas and goals can help provide the financial stability needed to afford an investment like this and in turn build a legacy for your family.
Other ways parents love to invest in their children is by supporting their interests and dreams like dancing or playing sports. Some parents provide a physical activity as an outlet to help their children grow in a team-oriented atmosphere.
Many parents enjoy investing in the image of their children, such as the clothing they wear to school, family events, church, or practice. Aside from retail, families love to invest in fun activities for their kids like going to amusement parks, recreational parks, family entertainment centers, the movies, and other leisure pursuits.
How profitable is the kid-focused entertainment industry?
A family-focused entertainment franchise like Launch is a relatively new and rapidly growing industry with thrilling prospects. The global trampoline park market is projected to grow at an above-average, healthy compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 17.2% from 2021 to 2030, according to recent market research.
According to a 2021 industry report, family entertainment centers, including trampoline parks, generated $18.9 billion in 2017, and the industry is expected to grow to $40.8 billion by 2025.
Range of investment costs
Startup costs for opening a family entertainment franchise varies depending on the brand and amenities.
To open a Launch Entertainment franchise, the initial cost is between $1,874,900 and $4,461,000, with a franchise fee of $50,000. Eligible candidates need a minimum liquidity of $600,000 and a minimum net worth of $1 million.
Ongoing costs include a 6% royalty fee and a 1% ad royalty fee.

Launch Franchising LLC Accelerates Growth in 2021 with New Private Equity Partner

WARWICK, RHODE ISLAND (September 19, 2021) – Launch Entertainment, an innovative, year-round family entertainment center with an XP Arena, ninja courses, laser tag, bowling, trampolines and more, is proud to announce its recent partnership with Silver Oak Services Partners, LLC (“Silver Oak”). Teaming up with the private equity firm positions the unrivaled family entertainment franchise for rapid expansion across the U.S.
Launch CEO Rob Arnold, who founded the family entertainment center in 2012 with his wife, Erin, says the private equity partnership puts the franchise in a position of strength as the booming indoor recreation industry emerges from the global pandemic.
“We decided as a company to view last year’s challenges and lockdowns as an opportunity to plan for our future. We used the downtime to focus on veering away from your standard trampoline park that appeals to only younger customers, and we have pivoted toward a more inclusive family entertainment concept,” Arnold says. “The partnership with Silver Oak allows us to grow our corporate team here at Launch with leading franchise professionals and build on our existing momentum through acquisitions and corporate park development.”
Silver Oak, a leading lower middle market private equity firm focused exclusively on service businesses, inked the partnership with Launch Trampoline Park in November 2020. Since the deal was signed, Launch has added a Head of Construction, a Head of Real Estate, and a Controller, among other key hires.
“This partnership allows us to hire best-in-class, seasoned franchise professionals from other concepts and improve the level of support for our franchisees, in addition to having the capital to evolve and innovate our brand at a more rapid pace,” Arnold adds. “We’re targeting key markets with great retail sites for new corporately owned locations as well as franchised locations. If you don’t have a Launch in your community yet, it won’t be long.”
Family entertainment centers generated $18.9 billion in 2017, and the industry is expected to grow to $40.8 billion by 2025 at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10.2 percent from 2018 to 2025, according to a 2021 industry report.
Launch, which started as an indoor trampoline park, has grown into a massive family entertainment center for all ages. The industry’s growth potential and Launch’s displayed willingness to evolve with the industry is what attracted Silver Oak to the brand, says Dan Gill, managing partner at Silver Oak.
“Family entertainment evolves quickly, and the franchise professionals at Launch are innovative industry leaders,” says Gill. “They understand what it takes to not only remain relevant in the family entertainment industry, but to dominate it. We are thrilled to play a role in the company’s rapid growth, and we look forward to great success.”

Launch Brings its One-of-a-Kind Family Entertainment Center to Woburn, Massachusetts

Successful Multi-Unit Franchisee, Ryan Debin, Opens his Fourth Launch Location in the State
WOBURN, MASS. – (September 18, 2021) – Launch Entertainment, a leading operator and franchisor of innovative, year-round family entertainment centers, is excited to announce the opening of a new location in Woburn, Massachusetts this summer. It will be the fourth Launch Entertainment location for multi-unit franchise owner and seasoned franchise professional Ryan Debin.
Founded in 2012 by Rob and Erin Arnold, Launch Entertainment started as an indoor trampoline park for kids. Today, Launch has evolved into a differentiated family entertainment center experience with a wide variety of attractions and amenities for all ages including XP Arena, ninja course, laser tag, trampolines, Krave Restaurant, beverage service and more.
Debin, appropriately titled Chief “Excitement” Officer of his Massachusetts-based asset management company, Momentum Enterprises, is a lifelong entrepreneur with more than a dozen franchise locations across two brands, including four Launch Entertainment locations in Norwood, Framingham, Westborough, and now Woburn, MA.
“I invest in brands that are fun and fulfilling,” says Debin. “I’m in the business of putting smiles on faces. The Woburn location will be in the space that once housed Toys “R” Us at 366 Cambridge Street. Launch and Debin’s team collaborated to renovate the 30,000-square-foot building and created what Debin deems the best Launch Entertainment location in all of Massachusetts.
“For those in the surrounding area who went to our Watertown location, which is now closed, this facility is a bigger, more advanced version of what people loved before,” says Debin. “We can’t wait for people to see the transformation in this commercial space that had been sitting empty since Toys ‘R’ Us closed. You can sense the excitement from the surrounding businesses. We’re bringing life back to this space in a big way.”
With three additional locations in development, Debin plans to open a total of seven locations across state.
“We are fortunate at Launch to have a passionate and motivated franchisee like Ryan,” says Launch CEO Rob Arnold. “The momentum Launch is experiencing in Massachusetts is exemplary of our mission to expand quickly across the United States. COVID-19 Update: What We’re Doing at Launch
As many of you know, the Coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, is starting to make its way around the world, and our hearts go out to all who have been affected by this outbreak. First and foremost, Launch takes the safety and well-being of our guests and employees very seriously. The situation is changing daily, and we are watching it closely so we can be prepared to take all the proper precautions to make sure everyone stays safe.
Over the past couple of weeks, we have been following recommendations from the CDC and related government and health agencies, as well as connecting with other business leaders who are actively sharing best practices and resources for keeping our guests and employees safe. The openness and collaboration across companies has been inspiring and heartwarming and has helped us immensely as we have developed our own response plans.
We are happy to share that Launch Entertainment Parks are welcoming guests as usual and are doing everything we can so you can continue to create amazing memories with us, knowing you are in good hands! We do appreciate your understanding that, as a customer, your Launch Experience may look slightly different as we navigate through this time together.
While our day to day cleaning procedures are already very comprehensive, we are increasing our in place processes to keep our facilities a safe and welcoming environment for all guests and staff, given the current situation. Launch Entertainment Parks have increased both professional cleaning schedules and updated and increased in-house cleaning by current staff to clean and sanitize frequently touched surfaces (handrails, doorknobs, restrooms, counters, dodgeballs, arcade games and prizes, waiver stations, etc.), attractions, and equipment throughout the day. In addition to this, we are always closed one day per week to do a thorough, deep clean of our entire facility.
We ask all staff and guests to wash their hands frequently, use hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes often, and to refrain from coming into the park when they are symptomatic of an illness, from the common cold to the flu.
We have modified operations in many of our parks in order to provide a safe and enjoyable experience to our guests. We have adapted the park experience by decreasing capacity to allow fewer guests in the building at one time and/or by limiting seating to improve social distancing. As a last resort, we will close a park if we feel it is in the best interest of our guests and staff, or if we are directed to do so by government authorities.
